Over the past term in our Scientific Culture lessons we have talked about the Universe. For me, it is one of the most interesting topics to talk about, not only about what we already know but also about all the things that we still have to discover.
Scientists have created truly impresive instruments to observe what lies beyond the limits of our Solar System. And the data they collect every day lead them to a better understanding of our origin and our future. Od ideas and theories can be rethought when new discoveries are made, in a a clear example of Science as something that changes and evolves over time.
One of the best sources for the material I've used is the NASA webpage. They have a section for educators that it is really interesting.
Here you have the link: https://www.nasa.gov/stem/foreducators/k-12/index.html
And below you will find some of the videos I've used in the lessons.
