The next activities are based in the transformation of energy.
We use the next application that you can download or use it on line, in the following web site:

Energy can dress up with different outlooks and you can tell how.

In the previous post you could see different forms of energy (different disguises)
Using the previous chart you can fill up the blanks in the activities.
First activity.
Introduction.
You can only measure the energy transferred to a substance, not the energy a substance holds.
· When you heat a substance, the quantity that vary in this substance is temperature.
· You can measure the transfer of heat measuring the increase of temperature.
Experiment which substance increases more temperature with the same amount of heat provided.
Link the heaters, make visible the energy symbols, put a thermo

meter in each of the substances you heat.
· If you heat simultaneously iron and a brick the temperature increases more in …………..
· If you heat simultaneously water and oil the temperature increases more in ……………
· If you let cool down the heated substances, the energy of the substances leave and the temperature ………..

· If you compare iron and the brick, the substance that store more energy in the same amount of matter is ………
· If you compare water and oil, the substance that store more energy in the same amount of matter is ………….
Second activity.
Introduction

· In this activity we have four different source of energy.
· We will study different transformation of energy and we will name different forms of energy.
You can enable the energy symbols to see the transfer of energy.
A. Using again the chart of types of energy:

· When you open the tap the water has ……….. energy.
· When the sun shines has …………. energy.
· The heated boiler has ………… energy.
· The cyclist when eat gain ……… energy.
B. These types of energy are transformed at the end of these processes

in:
· The heated water has …………. energy.
· When the bulbs light, transform …………... energy into …………….. energy.
· When the fan turns transform ………..…. energy into ……….…….. energy.
C. Between the first source of energy and the final form, there is an intermediat

e transformation of energy.
· The solar panel transform ………… energy into ……….. energy that can be used in the ……….. and in the …..…….
· The gear can transform …………. energy from the boiler, into ..…….. energy to heat the liquid.
· The gear can transform ……………. energy from the cyclist into ……..…..to light the bulbs.
· The gear can transform ……………. energy from the tap water into ………. to move the fan.
· At the end of all the processes the energy ends up as …..…….. energy.
